Canadian Woman Dies As Hair,Scarf Got Entangled In Lift

A 48-year-old Canadian woman has died from strangulation after her scarf and hair got caught in an escalator at a Montreal train station.

The freak accident took place just after 9am Thursday morning at the Fabre metro station along Montreal's blue line.

Witnesses told police they saw the unnamed victim struggling to free her scarf after it got lodged in the teeth of an escalator on her way down to the subway platform.

A 20-year-old Forest Hill man was arrested by Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies early Thursday morning, hours after police said he stabbed his mother to death in their home.

Isaac Anya Ojiabo Jr., 20, was taken into custody without incident at approximately 4:30 a.m., when detectives canvassing the Forest Hill area located him in his family’s white Lexus SUV at the intersection of Crouse and Putnam Road, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Edward Hopkins said.

Local resident 35-year-old Paul Horner was the groom during the ceremony. Joining him was his faithful dog Mac who is 36-years-old in dog years. Mac also decided to be the groom but ended up wearing a white veil at the last moment.

French President Hollande,Wife Splits

Valerie Trierweiler has arrived in India for a charity visit following her split from President Hollande.

The former First Lady arrived at Mumbai airport soon after midnight local time and was swamped with photographers as she made her way to a waiting limousine.

Ms Trierweiler's webpage on the official Elysee Palace website has already been removed, along with her official Twitter account.

Her five staff office at the Elysee has also been shut down, and she is not expected to enter the palace again.

The managing director of India's Tata Motors has died after he was believed to have fallen from a high floor balcony of a hotel in Bangkok today.

British-born Karl Slym was on a business trip at the time of his death and had attended a board meeting of the company's Thailand unit in the country's capital before plummeting from the hotel building.

Shocked mortuary workers at Naivasha hospital ran away when the body stirred and was seen to be breathing.

Paul Mutora, who had tried to kill himself by swallowing insecticide, was pronounced dead on Wednesday night.

The chief medic said the drug used to treat him slowed the heart beat, which may have led to the mistake.

The body of Paul Bagnall, a student at Darrick Wood school in Orpington, Kent, was discovered by his mother Sandrine, 44, on Tuesday.

Mr Bagnall was a prefect at his sixth-form, spoke fluent French, played rugby for his school's first team, and had been offered a place to study mechanical engineering in Southampton.

His family said that he had no history of bullying, and had been looking forward to a skiing holiday at half-term.

Former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon died at a hospital near Tel Aviv on Saturday, aged of 85, after spending eight years in a coma, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said.There was no immediate confirmation from Sheba hospital, where he was being treated, but a spokesman said a statement would be given at 3:00 pm (1300 GMT).Sharon has been in a coma since January 4, 2006 after suffering a massive stroke. Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Star James 'Uncle Phil' Avery Dies

James Avery, the much loved patriarch in the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has died aged 68.

The versatile actor played Uncle Phil to Will Smith's Philly newcomer in the beloved show from 1990 to 1996 and worked on a number of TV and film projects up until he fell ill this year.

TMZ reported that the actor died suddenly in an Los Angeles hospital on New Year's Eve from complications following open heart surgery.
